The height, "h" meters, of an infield fly ball "t" seconds, after being hit, is given the equation:

h=-5t�+30t

a) sketch a graph of the equation
b) determine how high the ball is after 2.3 seconds
c) determine when the ball is at a height of 25 meters
d) determine the maximum height of the ball
e) where would the ball be at, at ten seconds?

a) it's an inverted parabola, crossing the x-axis at 0,0 and 0,6, apex at 3,75
b)42.55 meters (or metres if you're British!)
c) after 1 second and 5 seconds
d) 75 metres
e) on the ground- it will be back at its starting height after 6 seconds. Not knowing what an infield fly ball is, I'm guessing baseball, so it would start from the height of the bat when it was hit. Unless the bat was more than 100 metres in the air, after a further 4 seconds the ball would be on the ground.
