me and my boyfriend both have owned dogs in the past but are looking to buy a puppy who is small and easy to handle, one that is not too demanding when it comes to exercise as we live in a flat, very affectionate with lots of character also.
I thought about a puggle but have been told that they are as crazy as beagles when it comes to energy, a pug seemed like a good idea and perhaps a cavalier King Charles?
Just would really like some advice as we feel it is so important to have a proper think about it first

Thankyou!

Is this a dog you want or a soft toy ??? Whether you live in a flat or a caravan ALL dogs need a good walk and exercise....if it is too much like hard work getting out to walk a dog then a dog is not for you.
IMO a pup in a flat will be a nightmare....housetraining for a kick off....best to wait till you have more time and space
Ps well done for the proper think bit....so often folk just rush headlong and post here afterwards asking for help
Why don't you get a cat? Plenty of rescue cats about. A puppy in a flat is a nightmare, you have to think of the other residents where you live too. Are you allowed pets in your flat?
get a rescue
"what dog to buy"

One you could afford to pay for, and maintain and home properly.
My son lives in an apartment and researched the best type of dog to suit his lifestyle, he has a Pug. Not my favourite breed, but he is very affectionate, easy to train, loves to play and go out, but is just as happy to sleep 23 hours a day.
I used to live in a flat with my chinese crested. The breed is small, loving, requires little exercise and isn't meant to bark but mine does!

Some people are put off by the hairless chinese crested but take a look at the powderpuff.
boston terrier?
Don't buy...rescue.
I live in a flat with a sight-hound cross. She sleeps much of the time,is quiet, and doesn't smell. She does take up most of the sofa, though.
Most small dogs have a lot of energy,bark...and need grooming.
like to swap pasta?? male who sleeps much of the day AND smells......
mwaaahahahahahaa!!

nahhh-that's why I got the dog... ;-))

Why BUY a dog holliemac? Why not rehome a non-bred-to-order dog?!
