Has anyone seen the new Magic Roundabout film at the cinema - if so, what did you think of it in comparison to the TV series? Thank you.

Thank you for that ermintrude!

We were going to take our two youngest grandchildren to see it tomorrow, but our 15 year old grandaughter says it has had terrible reviews - so perhaps we won't bother after all. :0(

I saw it on DVD the other day and i must add it is rather poo and i switched off after 30 minutes, Take the Kids to see SpongeBob SquarepPants instead tis a lot better :)

Thank you SYG! I'll have a look on Google & see what that one comes up with.

Kids will love The Magic Roundabout, it's those of us who grew up with the BBC version that find no comparison with the new film.

It's a fun film, but it doesn't have the kind of budget of the Pixar films.

Thanks Tony - it's a bit like Bill & Ben the Flowerpot men! I used to love the old b&w version, but wasn't keen on the new coloured animated version. Having said that, our little grandchildren loved it. Perhaps we will take them after all - that is if it doesn't snow too much here!

i took my niece to see it today, and we both really enjoyed it. the cast are brilliant especially bill nighy as dylan and joanna lumley as ermintrude. it only lasts 82 minutes so give it go you might enjoy it.

Thanks MEEMOO - they are looking forward to seeing it now - so we can't let them down.

my (32 year old) brother took his son to see it.  They BOTH really enjoyed it.  Neil says just don't have high expectations, it';s a KIDS film after all.  There are some good lines that the kids won't get tho....

eg "Where's Zebedee?"

"Zebedees dead baby, Zebedees dead".

I laugh at the Eric Thompson snobbery.  After all, that wasn't the origianl version...just the one we grew up with.  Therefore regardless of whether it was cr-ap or not, we will harken back to that as the superior version (just like the Dr who you grew up with). As a very funny man said...."Nostalgia is heroin for old people".
