64. cheap jack?
10. A period of time that happens regularly. 2008 was one. Bound does not mean tied.
When you get the answer, the first word has an alternative meaning of basket. I've only seen this in Chambers, not in other dictionaries. If you continue doing Rainbow quizzes, it would be very helpful to have a copy as you find secondary meanings of words in there that you would never imagine. Have you got a birthday coming up?
84. This doesn't refer to the cricket Ashes. You need a slang word for an American note plus a letter for English and the instruction 'last test'.
48. Did you google 'drowned valley'. This forms part of the word for tanks which are not military vehicles.
42 Margarine comes in this and what boxers do to each other.

Thank you so much for all you help vegasmad,I thought it could be Cheap Jack or John this is where I need the Chambers Dictionary.
Thanks also mamyalynne & FoxLee2 for the helpful clues unfortunately I don't have a birthday due until next year, will have to search the net for the cheapest one, is the 21st century one the one I need?.
It's a dictionary not a general knowledge book. I bought a new one recently as my previous one was only a paperback version and was falling apart. It's the 11th Edition - my husband actually ordered it for me online, possibly from Amazon, and it was about £21 as opposed to £35 in W.H Smith.
As well as a good dictionary, I recommend Bradfords Crossword Solver (which is a great help for more than Crosswords.
