why are tyne, shannon, humber,forth and thames different to other shipping forecast areas.

probably ignore my answer because I'm drunk (though I haven't bothered checking if it might be right or wrong)
Pretty sure you're right anyway - although I have had a few myself also.
Looking at the map ( http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/coast/shipping ), it might be correct!
