Puzzle Monthly Issue 12 Prize Giant

Do any of you brainy folk out there do the Puzzle Monthly competitions?
In the prize giant there are 3 words which are connected in one way or another. I.E. oak, elm, pine which are all trees, I have the following to work out
A?H?S
?R?M?S
P?R?H?S
for the first answer I can only get ,ACHES,APHIS & ASHES
and for answer 3 I can only get, PARCHES, PERCHES & PORCHES There are loads of answers for answer 2 but I cannot make a connection between answers 1 and 3 anyhow.
