Getting really mad now over last two. No.30 and No.86 - I have a strong idea of the answers but can't quite fit them to the question! especially the old fool bit in 30 and the convent bit in 86. Has anybody a good hint please - not the answer.

and, In the convent those without stockings get unwell - like Lily! (10) ( I've worked out that this obviously ends in "tail") all answers and Up in the Air.
30 - fritillary.unwell = ill in friary

Judge...WIGEON
Sorry, sorry, sorry...realised just after I pressed 'submit' that you just wanted hints. Many apologies.

Well that's torn it -I'll pretend I haven't seen those lovely answers and keep tearing out hair. Many thanks . Obviously my bright idea that the second one ended in "tail" was completely out of field - I thought I was soo clever - those with stocking (hose) left t + ail (get unwell) - I'm obviously too clever for my own good!!!
And so , how does ill in friary become fritillary ?
swannbaker - as BertieW explained:

those without stockings - remove hose, leaves the t

Fri+ t + ill + ary
