61-63=2????
Move the top - of the = so it reads 62=63-1
2 to the power 6 - 62= 1 It should be written as 26-62=1 (the first 6 should be smaller and to the right and top of the 2 as in superscript) but can't write it properly on this site
Well Done Kags! Good bit of lateral thinking
kags's answer is clever, but it must be wrong because it does not involve moving a digit (unless the wording of the question is itself wrong).
I think that dml54's answer might be correct, except that he/she has erroneously written

26 - 62 = 1

instead of

26 - 63 = 1

P.S. to write 26 you have to write

26

Bernardo is correct - it was very late last night. I meant to write (and I'm practicing the formula so sorry if it ends up pear-shaped!) 26 (If it does work, where can I find out how to do others?) Here goes - I'm going to press the submit button.
Would help if I'd put the rest of it in! so the answer is 26- 63=1
Yippee! It worked.
