Hello, I have one more to do in this quiz. I have Googled & Gooled and I can't find an answer.
Maybe someone can help me?
1. Which tabloid finally folded in 1984?
I presume it is a newspaper, although it does't actually say so!
The only thing I can find for 1984 is that Robert Maxwell bought the Mirror Group, maybe this had another name before? I don't know!
Thanx in advance for any help.

I still have a copy of the final edition :-)
If you have the final copy vicasso I wont argue with you but google says it closed in 1995. The Hong Kong Star which was their first tabloid closed in 1994.
according to this link it can't be today

Hi Yarmite, I've been through the newspaper section on the British library site below and cant find anything about a tabloid folding in 1984. Do you think the clue could be linked to a newspaper in George Orwell's 1984? long shot but its all I can come up with.

The London Evening News ceased publication in October 1980 leaving the Evening Standard as the only evening newspaper in London
Could it be the Ponteland Observer which in 1984 went from being a tabloid to a broadsheet, so would be folded up.....
