Both Elsan and Sloan are trademarks for portable loos.

I haven't heard of a Sloan portable loo. They seem to make bathroom fittings etc. Elsan is the most widely known name for a chemical toilet.

Sorry I just searched and found Sloan portable loos but the clue asks for chemical toilet so that must be Elsan.

Can't believe I'm having discussion about a chemical toilet! Well it's one way to spend Sunday!

I've just checked the Oxford English Dictionary for elsan and it says "a small transportable toilet". Sloan isn't in the dictionary.
