anyone want a good dj?

most djs i see today are all using cd and mp3 ,i understand why but i just love mixing with vinyl ,do you agree with me that this is the best ?

Why do you prefer vinyl? If you are doing it for a hobby, it's probably very nice, but I am a mobile Dj who does it for a living and I don't use vinyl for the following reasons (I use CD's BTW).

A. It's damned heavy for the amount of tunes to weight ratio

B. It's easily damaged and often virtually irreplaceable.

C: It jumps easily even with Technics decks and cushioning systems when compared to anti shock CD players

D: It is expensive compared to CD's. I can often buy a CD album for the cost of 1 x 12" dance record.

I don't dislike vinyl and have an awful lot of it at home, but commecially I don't use it.

As a DJ as well I have to agree with the above answer. Yes I do feel redundant somewhat but doing weddings and birthday parties the need for vinyl is no longer required.
The setting up of gear is painfull but if vinl is your thing then great

I'm also a mobile Deej and I gave up on vinyl when my trailor broke an axle as I used to carry so many records, I use cd's now and have never looked back.

I also don't do the mixing stuff or play and type of mix cd's, thats for the DJ's that can't be arsed to play single tracks....

Mixing is for the town centre DJ's in night clubs....
