Hi, I have got an all in one printer, scanner. Scanner wont work tho, not sure if its still under guarantee, Thanks

switch it off
go look for the bill

switch it back on .... try scanning the bill
(in photocopy mode)
if no joy on either front ....
you can
keep the printer .... consider a new scanner
bin it and start again - repair will cost a mint

You've not provided much information but, if the scan function doesn't work, the first thing to try is reinstalling the drivers. i.e. dig out the disk which came with the all-in-one device and reload the software from it. (If you can identify the driver software, just reinstall that. Otherwise, reinstall everything).

If that doesn't work, you might be able to get the device repaired or replaced by the retailer who supplied it. Electrical devices should normally be expected to work for 6 years. If you can show that the most likely cause of the problem is an 'inherent fault' (i.e. poor quality components or poor workmanship during manufacture), the retailer is obliged to provide a repair or replacement.

Hi, tried re-installing disc, still not working, found receipt tho, bought it 9/3/07,so hopefully get it exchanged.
I guess you didn't consider my advice good ... oh well;-)

the reason I suggested using the machine to photocopy the bill is that in this mode you are testing only the machine with no possible interference from the PC .... if the scanner works solo ... it's the PC or the cable... if not ... the unit is bust.

Hi TROLL, sorry yes followed your advice, scanner still didn't work. Took it back to shop today, they got to send it back to manufacturer, couldn't give me another one in exchange, dont know why. Thought if it was faulty they should give you refund or exchange
