DT Quick Crossword - Phrase

Last Monday the answers to the italicised clues were: CLEMENT, UTTERLY, GRATE, MISSENDEN, EON.

I am assuming that the phrase starts Clement Attlee, great......then i get stuck, it could be "great miss in the..." but I can't think how it finishes.

Can anyone help, please?

I thought it was just clement attlee great missendenian - which is where he lived....
