Seven 12d The whole base has come off, chum. I have al- Is this all? If so, why? Daily Mail 12 a Add alcohol in line with unbeatable service I have -a-e but can't see the solution!! I would be very grateful for help.

12d = all(y)
pal = ally and as a down clue, the base (bottom letter) is Y to take off.

Lace = add alcohol
