I don't particularly want any of my family knowing my user name on AB, as they could review what I have said.

The computer is set so I have to sign in everytime, but the sign in page has my user name displayed automatically.

Is there any way to stop this happening?

internet explorer is under internet properties.

I found an answerbank cookie and deleted it, but that had no effect.

If I delete all cookies might it not cause some problems?
what, the bit where you said you were going to run off with Jordan? Understandable. On Firefox it's under Tools - Clear Private Data (and tick all the available boxes, to be certain).

Jordan! Never!

What's Firefox?
... no, it should clear out all items with usernames, and generally make loading any internet page a bit slower (because you'll be doing it from scratch each time), but nothing vital.
No, they only track what webpages you've visited and are also used for stat counters.
Deleting them all will make the computer forget things like usernames appearing automaticly and any websites your logged into, you'll be logged out of. No real damage caused, so don't "panic"!
oh, Firefox, it's an alternative browser to Internet Explorer. I don't know which you use. Probably IE, it's what most people have.
No jno, it will not decrease speed, thats if you delete tempory internet files.

OK here goes, but if it all goes wrong I'll be after you two!
oh, true, crossroads; I just clear everything out regularly as a matter of habit, as I sometimes work on shared computers.
if it goes wrong we will both be deleted from the face of the earth, so no problem

What a kerfuffle.

No smoke from the computer.

Will I really be bothered to do that every time?
We'll see
depends how embarrassing your posts are. But remember your user name needs to be spotted just once...
Question Author
Oh I expect my son already knows it.

If 'er indoors had read my posts I would know about it already!
