Could someone kindly explain the clue to 9d? I am (reasonably) confident I have the right answer but just do not understand the "down under" reference. Full clue reads:

Side track to extended area of land, down under (8)

The answer is Distract

Dis is another name for Pluto and hence the 'Underworld'
Tract is an area of land
Was 'side track' one or two words in the original clue? Bit misleading if it was two...

Thank you, gen2. I did not know the Dis/Pluto connection so now feel enlightened.

Quizmonkey, "Side track" was given as two words.
