I know there have been several postings about this, but did anybody finally find a qualified answer for question 88?

What was the first name and surname of the artist who, when told that one of his portraits was ugly and distorted, replied: Are you certain, madam, that it was my picture you were looking at and not your mirror?

I've searched high and low, to no avail, and it's driving me nuts!

Check on Winston Churchill!
Sounds likwe something Churchill would say to Lady Astor
Was reading an article on artists and EDGAR DEGAS seemed to be someone who thought women were ugly!
Just another name to ponder over!
