My last one. Can anyone help please?

11a: nearby the broken biscuit (11)
I have A?E?N?T?Y but can't find any word to fit. I think all my letters are correct.

Also, 5d, is the third word THESE or THOSE? Both would fit. I'm tending towards THOSE but wondered what others thought.

Thanks.

11a Abernethy

One of those days
11a Abernethy
Not decided about 5d myself yet.
Abernethy is an anagram of 'nearby the' and is a biscuit.

I went for' those ' in 5d as the clue suggested past tense.

Thanks for the quick replies. That's me finished. I guessed it was an anagram but must confess that I've never heard of such a thing. It sounds Scottish, so as I live in South London maybe that's the reason. I'm off to the supermarket later and am going to ask them whether they have any Abernethy biscuits!!
Yes,do, porilo. They're excellent!
