Can anyone confirm picture no 1?

I thought that it was Dixie Dean or Alf Ramsey but now I not so sure. Also I'm torn between Rachel Brown & somebody else - (can't remeber the name.)

Any help gratefully received

It's a photo of a footballer from the 1930s I think and the other is a female footballer Q5

No dont have the quiz but know what Dixie Dean looks like; met him way back.

Hi starmack it's a bit difficult to describe him but I've googled and the picture doesn't look a lot like the pictures but he is same era and with his arms folded

Anther famous footballer from that era -- and goalies folder their arms in photos - was Elisha Scott of Liverpool????
I have a book of Dail Mail football photos all decades. Note that Arsenal team of 1934 all have arms folded! - There are also photos from 1920s of Eddie Hapgood of Arsenal and Hughie Gallacher of Newcaste with arms folded from that era.
Photo of Dixie Dean in that book -- he does NOT have arms folded!

Have you Googled your guesses plus word "photo" to see what you get? Alf Ramsey and Dixies Dean would definitely be there. Let us know the answer whenever it is known.

It wasn't one of those you suggested but in googling I found
Wilf Copping - the iron man There he was the exact picture arms folded. Amazing you helped find it without even having a copy of the quiz!

Brilliant, glad you found the answer. I love old football photos and buy books with the same, whereas I cannot even recognise many modern footballers.

Hello granny grump.....this sounds like a very interesting quiz.........like starmack, I too love the old photos of yesteryear, although I may be a bit younger.

How do I get hold of this quiz, I haven't seen it advertised on AB????
