I have never visited Norfolk, but have seen a lot about all the nature reserves on T.V over the past few months, so am planning a week there, over the late May bank holiday
26th May to 2nd June. However I do not want to go to any of the busy resorts on the coast. I was thinking of a cottage in the country, or maybe a house boat, on a quiet back water. Any suggestions????

I do not want to pay a lot of money, just because its the spring Bank Holiday, and where ever I go must take my dog as well (Jack Russell)

Any help appriciated

you need to look at the north norfolk coast. Very quiet for the most part with nature reserves, coastal paths, salt marshes and quiet beaches.

I cant point you in the right direction for accomodation as i have only been for day trips im afraid. But if you dont want family seaside resorts then avoid hunstanton itself, sheringham and obviously great yarmouth.
horsestache we are lucky to have a caravan in the family here http://www.kellingheath.co.uk/.
It is an absolute dream, set in the woods, you can hire out the static caravans but I am not sure how much. They are all modern and well equipped.
The surrounding area is very unspoilt, near the sea but not tacky. You can buy fresh crab from locals and it is so relaxing.
Perfect for dogs, the place is built on a nature reserve. Holt is nearby , a lovely (posh though) little town. Good luck in the search.
Suggest a trawl through the accommodation here: http://www.farmstayuk.co.uk/index.asp

As a farm based stay, a lot of the accommodation allows pets. B & B or self catering available and lots of choice in the Norfolk area. Prices average 25 - 30 pp for B & B so good value, and you get a darn good feeding as well.
