I caught a virus, and had to uninstall EVERYTHING off my computer, and reinstall it.
Now it keeps freezing up, and the screen goes blank. when I start up, it sometimes only go'es to the 'welcome' screen, I have to swithch it off and on. I have had to do this for at least twenty to thirty times. I am now at the end of my teather, and when I've finished typing this, I'm going to close for tonight, otherwise I am going to end up throwing the B***** thing out the window.
like I said Helppppppppppp. pppleeese.

If you have an XP system, have you tried System Restore in the tools section. Its worth a try.
You say you reinstalled 'it'. Do you mean Windows? If so, did you do a thorough format?

If the System Restore won't fix it, you may want to consider formatting your HDD and doing a clean Windows install.

Yes! to both questions. I have reinstalled it again, and now it freezes at the 'welcome' page, and I have to reboot it. It also keeps giving me a black screen (the monitor is ok). I'm getting more frustrated as the day go's on.
Thanks for the answers anyway.
I got this elsewhere for you.
I guess the best way to fix Windows faulty boot is to insert your Windows XP start up disc. After the utility loads up (the famous blue screen) select the option to repair. Go to the command line and type chkdsk /f or you may let Windows fix the problem automatically--this option is before you get to the command line. If chkdsk /f does not help, try chkdsk /r

Usually when Windows XP cannot load, inserting the start up utility and letting it to fix Windows files only it will leave all other data intact.

Give it a try.
what u would do is start fresh all over again reboot the hard drive and install xp the easy way if you want to do that and ill tell you the way to do it.Comment on this thread1
By the way whats the point in resoring and reinstalling XP when the bloke had a virus its not going to do anything.Format the c drive (hard drive)

Thanks mac70, will try, and rowan, have done that. Would give a longer answer but It has already cleared. try to get back.
Formatting a harddrive, rowan, is a last resort for a heavily infected system. 1rovert you could have saved yourself a lot of trouble by scanning with HijackThis and posting the log at forum.malwareremoval.
no formatting it or flattening it gets rid of all viruses .how do you know itsan 'heavily infected system' could be one or two like question stated
Thats what i said. Formatting was unnecessary as was the re-install in this case.
