Quizmail Q 36
sorry ethel am new to the site and its a postal quiz,
in terms of when the city was first founded and settled with european people living there, what is the modern name of the oldest established state capital in mainland usa
with thanks
It may be Santa Fe, New Mexico: -

With 65,000 residents, Santa Fe is New Mexicos third largest city. It was originally settled by Spaniards before1607, and is now the oldest state capital city in the United States. Its original name La Villa Real de Santa Fe de San Francisco de Asis, is Spanish for the Royal City of the Holy Faith of St. Francis of Assisi.

thanks sleuth oh dear going brain dead one of the 100% never mind cheers am still unsure of 36 have two answers T or S A can you tell me if im on the right path fed up with that one cheers
I'm not sure about number 36 either, coffee100, but I'm going with S as being the first one of them to have a permanent European settlement. T was occupied by Europeans earlier but only on a temporary basis. I've come to the conclusion that part of the question (about date of becoming state capital) is a red herring.

Question Author
julifier, thanks for answering its so long winded the question Im not sure but my answer doesnt seem to be the capital now , that was the S A.
so i was going for the T
I'm not sure which city your S A refers to but I was using S as a short form of S F. I'm also taking the 'Trail' question as a hint for this one.
