Thanks Crofter- I've got the top of the Premier League helping me today!

You don't post many questions kayakamina, so there is little opportunity to assist you personally. You're a giver not a taker!

I was just thinking - "I'm giving an 'assist' to a top goal striker here!" My pleasure and Best regards.

Missed all that as I've been away! Interesting use of 'ail' as a noun in that last clue (indisposition) - okayed by Chambers.

Quizmonkey / Kayakamina

Can you explain this a little more please - I know that Ro Ro is an acronym for Roll-on Roll-off so has Ro Ro become a generic name for a ferry that carries vehicles? Or, in the clue is 'aboard ferry' a reference to boarding a ferry ie Roll-on Roll-off?

Manati is presumably the spanish word for Manatee - 'sea creature, large,'

the answer 'Roman a tiroirs' is presumably a 'french' type of picaresque novel ?

And ...... azed ... where does this puzzle/quiz come from?

thank you in advance

ditto

can one of you give me an online reference to the word Kailrunt - I cannot find it thru google etc

thank you

Pandabear Only just seen your post. You are quite right about RO RO ferries. You will come across variants of the clue in crosswords. Manatee or Manati is a large aquatic mammal and as you say Picaresque is a novel with episodic structure ie a Roman a Tiroirs.

The Azed puzzle is in the Observer as is generally considered , along with the Listener in the Times, as being for the more advanced Puzzler.

Kailrunt is in Chambers. Good luck K

Kayakamina -thank you for the confirmation and info
