I have a game with the children where they have to make up a sentence to illustrate words that sound the same but are spelt differently. eg Naked Grissly ie Bare Bear or Windy Colour ie Blew Blue. Are these called Homophones? And if so - how do you pronounce it?
Homophones are words with one pronunciation but two meanings, such as bier' (meaning a coffin-stand) and beer' (meaning a drink). They generally have different spellings. The word is pronounced hom, as in Ken Hom, the Chinese chef...owe, as in money due...and phone as in phone, if you see what I mean!
Bare/Bear and Blew/Blue are indeed homophones. All you need to know about this phenomenon and more under the Wikipedia article for homonymns. As for pronunciation, try Webster's dictionary.
