I'm not sure what you are asking mike, quaking grass is called marguerite daisy.

Is this what you are lookingg for?

I think he's asking the clue: 'Briza media' which has a two-word answer D- D-

and he's discovered that briza is the Latin name for that grass. Sorry can't help further - excpet that it could be Daily something ? (for media).

that's not two words starting with D though!

What isn't?? Read his post again!! What's the matter with everyone today?!

Sorry quizmonkey, I was answering Don1 who said Michaelmas Daisy. Your post with an explanation of what was wanted wasn't showing when I posted.

Sorry.

Sorry, too - a slight flaw in these forum sites!

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. The quiz is simply clues to two-word alliterative answers, in sections of c_ c_s, d_d_s etc. Most are pretty straightforward (eg Mekon's enemy = Dan Dare; Linked by A548 = Dover & Deal etc.) None too cryptic as far as I could see. One of the few left just has the clue 'briza media' in the double D section, and apart from Quaking Grass we've drawn a blank.

Thanks for interest so far...

Country names for Quaking grass : Dithery dock, Dothery Dicks. I know it as totter grass.

Brilliant, Ulysses! Just what we were looking for. Thanks a million. I gather from a quick search that it's a Tyneside name, but probably other parts of the country as well. Thanks again.
