By what I've seen it looks very much like people are not spending. I'm not over cooking this but yesterday is the thrird Aldi I've been in this week, and it was almost deserted, and the place is crammed full of Christmas food, a lot being sweet stuff, there is no way they are going to shift that lot before Sunday, and it appears so in other supermarkets. However I do have many supermarkets around me all very close, so maybe that is the reason for low footfall.?

Our supermarkets are busy but a lot of people don't shop for themselves now.  They have it delivered.

Mind you I did have a laugh. Its fuuny how a lot of blokes learn how to shop around this time of year. Have a guess what the trolly is over loaded. You can tell they don't shop to offten because they don't understand why they may have to wait a little at the checkout. :0)

Not true, Fortnum and Mason were rammed last Thursday and so were the boozers even at over £6.00 a pint.

Most supermarkets do Xmas offers on their veg every year.  Adsa are similar to the Tesco ones above. And as Naomi says many will have it delivered.  Just checked all slots are sold out round here both Asda and Tesco.

And, my brother and his good lady wife went to Spoons yesterday for lunch.  Rammed.
