there were 70 questions and i had answered 55 then i hit a brick wall, i am retired now so i had time on my side but i had not managed to answer anymore in 4 days[several hours ]to say the least and from the answers that have come in i doubt whether i could have answered any of them, you might say well why did you start the quiz in the first place, well i did manage 55 on my own and i had put so many hours into it i asked for help, i did make a mistake in entering them in the news section, i was on that screen and just entered them automatically without thinking

as i have explained in an earlier post i am not bothered about asking for help because the compiler has no right to prohibit you from asking, i explained earlier my position on this and it is a matter of opinion all i can say is that if every compiler adopted the no asking formula the answerbank would be reduntant. finally thank -you for helping me out on some of the questions, i have one left that seems to have beaten the panel  which is 'use this lens to  see a very small photograph'

i have tried looking up all the lenses and types of photographs but i can say now that come this christmas the answer column would remain empty, is that my fault well maybe but you don't get anywhere without asking

hops - you are clearly completely wrong when you say a quiz setter has no right to prohibit you from asking for help.  A quiz setter is entitled to set whatever rules they like for their quiz including saying to not ask for any help on the internet with it.  By buying the quiz you are accepting those rules.  If you don't like the rules then you shouldn’t buy the quiz.  It’s that simple.  It’s wholly unreasonable to buy it and then cheat by breaking the rules.

hello, pulse, i gave my opinion in an earlier post, please read, it is a matter of opinion, some people will agree with me and others will agree with you

Presumably you managed to do the last one without asking because you live in Devon? Do you think those who gave you answers all live in Scotland? Do you only do quizzes that relate to your interests? Why did you buy this one if that is how you quiz?

Then you don't need all the answers do you?

Question Author

when i enter a quiz i try to do my best,i have met your sarcastic  comments on a previous quiz, when will you ever try and answer a question of mine on an answerbank site instead of constant jibes,

[7] USE THIS LENS TO SEE A VERY SMALL PHOTOGRAPH

I remember you asking the Pendelside dingbat quiz when it had only been out a couple of days but not calling it that  and when I asked if it was that one you lied and told me no it wasn't  A bit like you were reluctant to say what quiz this was when you were asked so many times. You had done your best when you had done 55 answers so still doesn't explain why you asked the rest

If you feel so strongly about the cheating (because, let's face it, that's exactly what it is) why not report hops to the quiz setter? If they feel strongly enough, they may contact Answerbank and ask for them to take some appropriate action (banning the member / banning any questions being asked / both etc etc).

Zacs - it is not Hops that is wrong it is all the people harrassing him that are breaking this site's rules - the Ed made it crystal clear nothing must be done to deter members from asking questions. This is a question and answer site!

this type of person set themselves up as self appointed would be custodians of the answerbank  site absolutely full of sarcasm and jibes, never answering many questions, it is they who need throwing off this site, oh and by the way pal do not call me a cheat you boring person

thanks jj but you will never win against this sort, they will be on again in a minute slating you, leave it to me,smouse has previously been banned from this site

[7] use this lens to see a very small photograph [8 letters] the answer is a place in the scottish borders

i have been googling this for ages and the closest i can get is a fisheye lens and the place in scotland is Fishwick .It's most likely way off but i can't see anything else x

I have never been banned from this site and I did not call you a cheat I was just recalling the thread when you told me and mamylynne it was not that quiz. Why not just say you want to win there is nothing wrong with that

Question Author

lovely, mallyh, nice to hear from an answerbank legend

It's cheating whichever way you look at it.

Question Author

you can always tell 'em i mile off they call themselves some kind of master as if they always know better than you and just watch they always want the last word

I see you're not refuting that your cheating.
