Before I retired, I worked in a printing factory that became very warm in the kind of weather that we're having now. I went to work in shorts, and thus began a fashion among my workmates. Whenever I heard a forecaster say, on the morning radio, that we were going to have a 'lovely day', my heart sank. I knew that it wasn't going to be a 'lovely day' for me and my workmates. It was going to be a very uncomfortable day.

Actually, I am...it brings me closer to my 4 day weekend. And 3 days in a kitchen in this heat is enough!

Apart from odd days pick ups over the next few weeks I am officially doing nothing muchtil at least next year except getting thinner, which sounds like a bad thing but is in fact absolutely fabulous.

In a funny sort of way I wish I was going to work tomorrow. My OMP ran out on 22 June and I'm on SMP only until 21 September.

I could go back to work early I suppose, but I wan't the time with the kiddo, and we haven't had a summer like this in years.
