I called into B&M store today to find they had a huge area full of curtains for £1....

I make my own curtains but couldn't let all this fabric pass me by......even is I only used the linings.....but the fabrics will come in handy for crafts too....

I chose 9 single curtains (large and with some bling) but when I got to the till I was told it's £1 a pair.....so for £4.50 I have loads of fabric in my stash.....

So....worth looking in if there's a store near you....x

Who's B&M Gness?
I wish I could sew!
Yes, there's one literally round the corner from me, will have a look tomorrow ...
Question Author
It's a store just called B&M, Prudie.......a sort of bargain store that has some really okay stuff.......all sorts of everything and some branded items such a Draught Guinness really cheap....
I use them for wallpaper and decorating stuff.....

I have some metal handbag handles, Tilly....been looking for some velvety type fabric to make a bag....one of these aubergine curtains will make a great bag with some lace and bling on it.....x
Question Author
Hope they are doing it there, HereIam......will certainly keep an eye on my local store now.....

Thanks, Mamya for the link......lots of stores!

It is a dangerous shop to go into.

I try to meet up with a friend every month or so - we wander around B&M stores and then have lunch. I bought each of the kittens a scratch pole in B&M, a very similar pole in Pests at Home ☺ cost me more for one pole than two in B&M. They all get destroyed at the same rate.

The Range is okay too.
I love B & M gness, it's one of my fave stores !

It is dangerous, Wolf.....they have great wallpaper......I get so tempted.....
I bring samples home thinking....oh I'll just re-decorate the bedroom (again) as I like this paper so much....but if I don't I can use the sample for making Christmas cards.....x
Question Author
I really like it too, HereIam....and The Range, Wolf......great crafting stuff in there...x
My real weakness is boxes - storage boxes. The bigger ones get used by the cats.

I have craft ideas in my head but my hands don't speak to my brain. In the house my main DIY tools are - parcel tape, elastic bands and my staple gun.
Such a clever lady!

Oooo...just a fidget really, Eleena.......fidget hands that need to keep making things....and a headful of ideas I'll never get around to....though I did realise the other night that I do miss making blingy costumes for the theatre..... x
Are there no amateur dramatic groups near you Gness that would value your crafts?
I'm hoping for some cycling shorts ... :-[]
Question Author
There is, Eleena.......I worked for one for years but gave up when MrG became very ill....and they've asked now and again....
I know I could go back but it is demanding and I do relish being footloose and fancy free these days......

Maybe if another show like 42nd Street comes along I'll think about it.....x
Knitted Dave? ;0)
Question Author
Not sure I have enough Lycra, Dave....but if I'm making them they'll be lined with Brillo Pads!....;-)
I'm sure you could choose exactly 'when' available Gness. Apart from behind the scenes, have you ever acted Gness?
Question Author
I know how demanding it is, Eleena in the weeks leading up to a show.....and I don't know if I'd be as kind, these days, to the odd Prima Donna you get in amdram.....
There is one producer/director I'd consider working with again.....he and I were perfect together.....both over the top with dramatic ideas...but he could put on a perfect show.....

I have never, ever acted.....my daughter did and my granddaughter is at stage school with her eye on West End Musicals.....I would just freeze I think.....x
