My son will be applying soon for a mortgage and he got his credit score recently which was classed as excellent he never goes into his overdraft or misses any credit card payments

He does use PayPal to the amount of 10 pounds a week to place a small bet which only shows up as paypal on his bank statements

He is worried sick that the bank will turn him down because of the above but I have assured him that if you keep your finances in order and have a good credit score which he does the occasional spend on a hobby won't be a big deal

He is still fretting so am I right in what I tell him :)

No expert but I don't see anyone is going to be concerned that he spends a small amount regularly on a pastime he likes. With no history of failed debts I'd be confident he'd be seen as a good bet.
yes he is OK
tell him to apply
( bargains to be had - prices of land is stunned at the moment )
