Need help with one (as usual!).

"Cambridgeshire" fits the grid, but I can't see why.

Cambridgeshire is a Horse Race

Cambridge = City

Shire = Area of land ? (All Around) ?
Don't know if it makes sense but The Cambridgeshire is a race. And Cambridgeshire surrounds the city of Cambridge.
