i didn't know what category to put this in,
i was wondering if anyone on here gets DLA, disability living allowance, and knows quite what is happening to it, the changes and how soon it may be.
I have looked at one website but it is quite confusing, which is nothing new.

in other words if you have had any letters detailing the changes, as i have heard nothing so far, so not sure how this change will affect me.
I think people are to be re assessed and certain benefits will be replaced by other ones. I think it starts in April but as you can tell I know about as much about it as you do.
Osborne wants to abolish it???

i read that earlier today, and no i don't understand it either, was hoping someone would have more to say as this is a big change..
Personal Independence Payment will start to replace DLA from 8.4.13 for people aged 16-64. It will have two components - Daily Living and Mobility. Each component will have 2 rates, standard and enhanced.
Current recipients of DLA will have to start again from scratch and apply for P.I.P.. Most people will have to attend a new medical examination.
Depending on when your current award for DLA is due to end, you may not be contacted until 2015 or later.
They very helpfully say that if you are currently awarded DLA and are subsequently qualify for P.I.P. you may receive the same money, or less money, or more money.

that is the trouble no idea when it ends, nor have i heard a word from them, so not really sure whether to contact the DWP and try and find out.
Em, they are in the process of writing to every recipient of DLA.

You say you don't know when your current award end - you receive a letter each year setting out your entitlement. You should have had a letter or will soon receive one telling you of your increase from April. The info on P.I.P's is in with that letter
your award letter should have told you how long the award was for - ie one year, three years, indefinately and so on
