5. As far as I can see in the table, there are 2 letters which don't appear, worth 8 and 10 at Scrabble
2 is in the city where one of the cathedrals wasn't completed till 1980. one of the listed buildings houses an art gallery with another branch in Cornwall

well there is nothing like the answers being more cryptic than the questions. there are 4 tates, 2 in london, 1 in st ives and 1 in liverpool. the liverpool cathedrals were finished in 1978 and 1967. so kit cannot be there.
3. could be solar flares, but there are also classifications C and X, so maybe not
5. Presumably Famous5 is referring to J and Q. I suspect the answer you need is J, as there was a Q in Ununquadium (UUQ), which is now renamed as Flerovium (Fl)
Surely there are more Grade One listed buildings in London than anywhere else? 160 according to the official list I found! Or is that too simple?
If you define quite narrowly "largest group of Grade 1 listed" I suppose it might be this..

Sorry to have misled you with the date, don't know where 1980 came from!
The version of the periodic table I looked at didn't mention renaming of elements, but Salty's info could come in handy at a pub quiz sometime
