I hope someone can help. Me and my partner want to go greek island hopping but are on a tight budget. Is the best way to get accomodation in advance or can we wait until we're there? How do we find out about the ferries? Will we have to stay in hotels? All Help appreciated!!!!

search google for ferries cyprus greece and follow the links. we found all of the prices needed, from 20 euros upwards, but you can buy a season ticket from the port.

student travel agents miss ellies in manchester provide a full package if reqd

You can guarantee there are locals waiting at the ferry terminal at each island holding up signs for rooms to let. We did a month island hopping on a VERY tight budget. This was the norm for all six islands.
To follow on from last post, the Rough Guide is a usually a good source of info on rooms and ferries. It's a long time since we went and we had no idea what to do when we got there. We flew to Athens, got to the port of  Pireus where there are numerous shipping booking offices at the ferry terminal.  They all have signs up for each and every ferry destination you can think of, their departure time, price and journey time.  You just pick an island you fancy and away you go. It's really easy.  You can also do this from the islands if you are flying straight to a particular island but unlike Pireus most of them will only have ferries calling which are going to particular islands. You won't get the choice you get at Pireus but as all the islands are great you'll always find somewhere you want to go. All island have agents on the quayside where you can buy tickets, single or return.  Enjoy.
