Almost all of Team GB were sporting impressive tummies at these Games.

I haven't seen this anything like so much in the past.

Is this a good target for all of us? A six pack by next Spring? That's gonna take a LOT of abs work.

The photo of Jessica Ennis in the link also answers the question ... at the Olympics, are the athletes numbers still held on by four safety pins, like when you're at school?

They can make modern elite athletes' clothes as figure hugging and aerodynamic as they like, but they still have to run with a piece of flappy cardboard pinned on the front.

I wondered about the pins Jayne. Must have been what slowed Bolt down.

Very good, Dave!

Ed ... I'd imagined some sort of lightweight fabric numbers, which clung to the front of the running tops. But no ... it's good old safety pins.

I wonder if they are like normal club runners ... "Excuse me, have you got any spare pins? I've lost one of mine."
I noticed some of the runners had their numbers stuck to their legs.

As for the abs - oh! To have a figure like that. Well, not quite. Wrong sex but you know what I mean.
I used to have a four-pack..................
