The Club is now Open.

Welcome once again to the Mad over Fifties Club for a night of unalloyed pleasure.
No doubt there will be at least one ode, lots of delicious comestibles and sufficient alcohol to float a battleship.
And that's before we get on to the excellent conversation , witty repartee and the holy grail of all club events, the drawing of the raffle.

Tonight's prizes so far include:

two rain mates (pink spotty ones)
a packet of Fishermen's Friends
a pair of flip flops, one orange, one green (totally non-sectarian )
and
a loofah

Careful Mamya. Heb has something of a reputation!

oh goody. just in time to say goodnight and collect emu. come to mummy darling. cooochie, coo.

thank you for your hospitality. xxx

ps beware of roofs. you never know what will fall off them.
I had to come back in again, the croc has taken both coats and I need another one (mrs_o's will do) and some of mamy's elixir
Hope that is not Phonetical.
Sorry Daisy, been otherwise engaged. I really enjoy a good look myself - much to my daughter's chagrin, it is doubtful whether bromide is still available these days.
How have you been, not seen you around for a while
I will raid the Butlers nooks to find spare coats.
Hi nungate. Keep dashing across to Bournemouth to visit family and watch them dance. Plus computer goes doolally tap every now and again. Enjoyed the Tour de France, looking forward to the Olympics. How are you keeping? Well I hope.
Thanks mamy. only you can get past the butler
True that.
Horlicks for owd.
Hello, hello, hello - what's all this then? A butler can't go about his security checks without his nook getting nobbled...

Ah well - anyone for any more tailcocks? I have to perform a stockta...check in the cellar with Matron soon
Not too bad Daisy, it all depends on the weather - all this wet windy stuff has played havoc with my arthritis but it's been warm and sunny today and things are easing a bit. Watched a bit of the tour today - he's doing really well, nice to see a Briton in front for a change. Plan to watch the cycling, swimming and the long distance races. Haven't been to Bournemouth, though the area looks lovely. Only been as far west as Brighton when we holidayed down in Sussex, all of us would love to get down there again for a break.
Think bromide is supposed to work on men. Luckily my daughter and I can discuss men worth looking at. Have appreciated Excelsior's avatars.
Not a fan of the wind. Am further west than Brighton. West Sussex is beautiful. So much to see and appreciate. Planning a trip to Chichester to see the new museum. Love the Downs, Cissbury Ring, the flint mines, the views from Highdown and the gardens there. We do have a little sand when the tide is out. Not a bad place to live.
I particularly liked the Denzel Washington one Daisy - a very fine actor (and so handsome!)

Well time to go saddle up the zebra and wend my weary way home. To all here remaining I wish you a fond good night, in the hope we shall all meet here again a sennight from now.
Night all
Good night, miss nungate - safe journey & be well :-)
Just before the off, never been to West Sussex at all, I'll add it to "the list".
If you're looking for a nice sandy beach Daisy there are a few practically on my doorstep (and lots of golf courses). There's a private beach we frequented when we were children which ypu can still visit, nice clean sand wonderful views out to sea and the Bass Rock mind you the water wa always freezing! Good times.
