3d 5 letters another name for lasso. Google says riata or reata so my question is 'Which one should I put?'

I've plumped for RIATA...but I'm not sure why....
I think they should accept either.

If the 'i' or 'e' falls against a blank square then you must pay your money and make a choice because both are equally good - IMO.

I think "reata" is the Spanish spelling.

In the dictionary I use online 'Riata' has the main definition, where as 'Reata' has the secondary definition refering to Riata. They are equally good, but with the dictionary using 'Riata' as the primary definition, this is the one I would plump for. Definitions as below.
