I'll have a watch of that in a bit...

I wonder what drives people to say such cruel things...
they are sad and embittered people whos only joy in life is to bring misery to others
I just wonder how they became so damaged of course they could be born sociopaths
But on RIP pages? That's completely different to pissing someone off on here and then them sending vile private messages.
That vile guy at the end they showed just used the excuse that he wasn't breaking the law. Oh!! That's ok then!

He appeared to have a child with him (which I will assume was his own) and I wondered if something happened to that child would he be ok with people saying things like that about the child?? I doubt it.
What can you do when people like this have sht for brains Boxy, does the thing work? why can't the Internet block him? It must be possible.
This person is truly, the scum of the earth.
the internet isn't a living entity that can choose to block people

its probably near impossible to stop someone going online should they choose to do so.

i have no idea how some people can be so disrespectful and nasty to post on RIP pages
people who troll these sites have complex issues, some have mental health problems.

regardless though, people who choose to troll in the most unpleasant way are very rarely happy people with happy lives. Trolling can act as an outlet for their negativity and pent up rage.
I don't think having mental health issues can be given as an excuse.

Plenty of people with mental health issues still know the difference between right and wrong and if they aren't capable of determaning that then they should not be allowed internet access unsupervised. Just as much so for their own protection than that of others.
its not an excuse, but having "issues" of any kind mentally can create the conditions where a person may become hostile online. this can manifest itself into trolling over time
Do I recall a rather distasteful incident with Salla?....I do!

We on AB are not immune from these cases/nutters....but at least there should be some "protection" in numbers and the Eds/Mods.
I think the salla incident has had an affect on ab, people are more wary now of giving out too many details about themselves, it has been a wake up call for everyone.
its not as easy as not allowing someone to have access, you would have to be supervising them 24/7

all you need is free wifi and a internet device of some kind
it would be easier to get to the route of why they troll and show them the other side of online bullying (the receiving end) maybe they need to see the effects of their trolling, maybe they need to be named and shamed?

I agree they should have limited access but in honesty its hard to put that into practice

That bloke said he didn't give a monkeys, though, about the effect on the people he was trolling. I guess it's his 15 minutes of fame - some people just do not care about the effect of their behaviour on everyone else.
name and shame then, he will have his "infamy" then, Im sure it will affect his work/life prospects in future...
I just watched it. The police had already been to visit 'nimrod' in 2010 about his trolling.

What I didn't understand....The 11 year old was very distressed...why wasn't she banned from the computer??? My kids were members of springform....until I seen what was written on there.
"all you need is free wifi and a internet device of some kind"

Not even wifi to be honest. You could buy a PAYG smartphone with a sim and a little credit - all anonymously - and mess someone around efficiently.

Do you mean formspring Umm? An anonymous place to get asked questions?
It's the same sort of thing as people who write offensive graffiti - They're too cowardly to come out in the open with their nastiness, so they do it and hide.

Publicity is the answer - if they feared being exposed, it would stop.

Here on Answerbank, we can't post without giving enough details to be traced back if necessary, don't we?
