The MM Links game got off to a slow start for January but picked up last week with an average-scoring game.
Tomorrow at 8:45 am, 'The Court Jester' aka Kettledrum, will open procedings in Q & P with her preamble. The actual challenge words will be posted at 9:00.
I am not sure which King's court she is jester to, but the castle they all reside in was built to mythical standards so the 'Court Jester' has to please her master or will have the choice of being thrown into the dungeon, or take her chance with the dragon. She therefore has a great incentive to be lenient with her selection tomorrow.

Bonus points are only available for two minutes following each link's discovery, so it pays to be early with your predictions in this game.

Not so in the sister game of the KM Links (run by seekeerz) where bonus points are equally available all weekend. That game is based on Kate Mepham's GK crosswords in the Daily Telegraph and is usually launched at some ungodly hour on Saturday morning. Play any time with an equal chance of scoring.

As for this thread, It has commonly been known as 'The Shrubbery' but has become rather rather neglected and overgrown of late. Pauline wanted to hold a party last weekend, but it didn't materialis. Tonight, she hopes to remedy that by buying everyone a drink (. . . sorry, I misread that: she expects everyone to buy HER a drink!)
The gates, and the bar, are now open.

Happy linking tomorrow,
gen2

A peice of toast would be okay...

. . . or lambs testes!
Just looked it up Christiana, it sounds lovely!
LOL gen2...I said something very similar at first!
Unlike the lambs' testes. Doesn't sound like much of a supper dish to me - mind you I can't say it sounds like a breakfast or dinner dish either.
They are low in fat!...and rich in vitamin C :-)
I must admit to a liking for lambs' hearts and lambs' kidneys, but I really wouldn't consider either as a supper dish.
Back to toast then. :-)
Hi shrubbery gang! I've just stumbled in here for the first time in ages.
I can see the place needs a bit of a makeover as gen2 mentioned above, but as long as the drinks are flowing does it really matter? lol ;o)
Sorry, S. You can only come in if you're in one of your disguises - we're having a nostalgia evening!

Hi there 'S', The faeries have taken over all the mushrooms and the insurance has run out on the bus, but I'm sure there is a full bottle lurking somewhere in the potting shed.
Fair enough Christiana, I shall ponder a cunning disguise ;o)
I knew I could rely on you gen2 ... cheers!
There's some lemoncello among other things - perhaps if you lurk in the shrubbery you'll discover where the hooch is stashed.
Did you bring your mushrooms?

The bus has been taken over by triffids. :-)
I'd be careful of Gen2's bottle in the potting shed if I were you Sarumite - taking into account his 'flowers of Scotland' quiz, you might find yourself sampling weedkiller! Still it could go well with the mushrooms
I've disguised myself as you can see below, so will search for the stash of hooch and then sort those pesky triffids out!

Here it is, I knew there was one somewhere. Do you remember hiding it as a child 'S'?

Wow! That's pure 'nectar' gen2 .... you're a star!
So you've been on the bus all the time Sarumite!
