W11 is the postcode for Notting Hill
Nice one KUSTARD. Hope you are well.
Hi again KUSTARD. I've just noticed from another post that you have recently broken you wrist and I'm so very sorry for you. Did mine a number of years ago and life was so difficult with the wretched plaster on - even the most simplest of things. Take care x
Thanks a lot Touchstone. I am coping quite well. Back to being able to operate the shift now but still can't open a bottle of wine!!! When I got my permanent cast put on they asked me what colour I wanted. I thought they were taking the p... but they brought me all these little colour samples so it is jade green. Very fetching but sure they could find something better to spend the money on!!!
Hi again KUSTARD

Very pleased to hear that you are coping and as for the wine get screw top bottles, clasp between knees and voila. My hospital even offered me a cast with Santa on and it was in the middle of summer - he ho. Do you recall the time we both got slapped knuckles for answering questions for poodledoo who I haven't seen around lately. Do hope all is well with her and that she makes contact. I do remember that she was going through a rough patch at the time.
OMG Touchstone. I always seem to be in trouble and honest, I'm dead nice really. I'd forgotten about that. I remember loads of people slagging Quizmouse off with no probs and I just remarked that I'd asked her a question and she hadn't replied and she came back to me and said she'd no wish to get into a slanging match and we had a bit of a fracas (good word eh?). Then last week I got an answer removed and I still can't figure out why and no-one answered anything I said the next day on any subject so I thought I had been banned!!!! Apart from this, what do you think Hazeldean will think when she looks for her film answer and finds she has got a million answers?
P.S. Just seen Poodledoo asking for some answers on the site so hopefully all is well now. Got to take the dog out now before I practice on a wine bottle so if you reply I'll get back to you tomorrow. x
Hi KUSTARD

Hope you managed with the wine bottle. Wonder why you had an answer removed, did you say a naughty word?

Goodness knows what HD will think but she never seems to reply to posts anyway.

By the way, how was the sea bass? Yummy I hope.
PS - Pleased to see that poodledoo is still posting.
Thought you were clairvoyant about the sea bass but realise that's the post you must have read to find out about my wrist. The fish was delicious and the pinot grigio went really well with it. Him indoors opened it because he fancied it with the meal but he only has a couple of glasses in a week so gets on at me if I have a bottle or three!! The word I used was as above - clairvoyant - has it some non p.c meaning that I am unaware of? Will this posting be removed before you see it? What happened was, you know how people ask for answers without giving much information and some people are quite nasty about it, well someone just asked for 24across (it might be another number, I forget), no clue, no number of letters, not even the paper it was in and I just said "Give us a clue, we are not clairvoyant" so what did I do wrong? Really enjoying our chat but if we never hear from one another again, it is cos I have been chucked off!! Going dog-walking again. Be back on later.
P.S. I feel like Anne Reid in Ladies of Letters. Do you want to be Maureen Lipman cos she is a bit posher?! xx
Good morning KUSTARD

Glad that the sea bass and the pinot went down well.

How very strange about your removed answer. Is there any way of finding out exactly why? How about trying the Ed's Blog or Suggestions?

Didn't see Ladies of Letters but just looked it up and it sounded a good programme.

Enjoy the weekend. I think heavy rain is forecast for here tomorrow unfortunately.
Hiya Touchstone. Glad you don't understand why my answer was removed either. Him indoors cooked fillet steak for tea and had 1.5 glasses of Pinotage so I am attempting to finish the bottle while he watches Doctor Who!!! I missed Ladies of Letters first time round but saw it was repeated on a Sunday afternoon and it was really funny I thought. As to the weather it's been really warm here today if a bit windy (Merseyside - about a mile from Haydock Park race course) but gales forecast for Monday. He is taking the car to a classic car show in Nottingham tomorrow and it is forecast better there but gales here Monday. Done a list of things for him before he goes like opening the tin of dog meat. I can do wine now. No sign of Hazeldean. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't say thanks to people who are good enough to help me. Anyway, are you fed up with our communications yet -it's like our own Chatterbank without cr.. (better not put that word, getting paranoid now). Finally, looking at your Avitar, were you a Catweazel fan? I loved it!!! If you were, I'll say "Chez pamphrash" for now and speak to you soon. xx
Hi KUSTARD

I'm back again and really do enjoy our little chats. Hope no one else is looking in or we might get our knuckles slapped again!

We had grilled gammon steak with fresh pineapple last night and it was lovely. Now deciding whether to cook roast chicken or grilled pork chops for today - what a dilemma!

What classic car to you have?

Never watched Catweasel so can't comment.

Love your avatar - is it your dog and is its name Kustard?

Chucked it down with rain at 4am but all is fine now with the chance of isolated showers later.

Enjoy your day.
Hi again

Forgot to ask if you were doing the Rainbow Quiz 'Put on your L plates' 'cos I'm really struggling with it. Only managed to solve half of the 100 questions and I've been at it on and off for about 2 weeks now.
Hi Touchstone. Here I am again. Will try to answer all your questions but might forget a couple cos it isn't the same when the posting is out of sight. The dog's name is Ben, our surname is Kuss (wierd I know) therefore the Kustard name. Touchstone was Catweazle's familiar - it WAS green but a toad not an elephant and he (Catweazle) always used to say Chez Pamphrash which is why I said it. It might be before your time!!!! So why "Touchstone?" It still hasn't rained here at all yet but the wind is getting up a bit. As to the car, Charlie has a Middlebridge Scimitar if that is of any help to you. They only made 77 I think. Princess Anne has always had one. Unlike most classic cars it is worth about three beans and a banana so there you go!! I think that's it apart from the Rainbow Quiz. No, I've never even heard of it. Where do you get it? I am plodding on with the Macmillan Autumn Quiz at the moment. It is really good. It IS advertised on Answerbank but you just order it and pay by Paypal or card and they e-mail it to you. Right, that's our daily dose over now "Maureen". Will start some tea for the traveller's return. (Managed wonderfully today. Only thing I couldn't do was get the lid off the honey for my porridge and the dog has hidden a pig's ear somewhere and I can't find it!!) Love from "Anne" xx
Hi Anne

You can download the Rainbow Quiz from this link
http://freespace.virgin.net/neville.mizen3/

I'll pop back later for a little natter.

Love Judy x
Hi again Anne

Don't really know why I chose Touchstone. When I joined the site a couple of years ago all the usernames I fancied were already taken so picked TS out of desperation/frustration really.

The Rainbow Quiz consists of 100 questions, 50 of which start with the letter L and the other 50 end in L.

I too sent off for the Macmillan Quiz but not making much progress with it so far. Apparently there is a mistake in the clue for 71 which should read Clara not Clair. Good luck with it.

Very overcast here in The Garden of England today and we have had a steady drizzle for hours.

Where on earth did Ben get a pigs ear from?

By the way we ended up having chicken and there's loads over so will probably do a curry or sweet and sour with it - more decisions!

When is your cast due to come off. I can't remember how long I had mine on for.

Take care

Love Judy
Hiya ?Judy. Is that your real name cos you are supposed to be "Maureen!!" Rained here in the night, stopped now but blowing a gale. We get the pigs' ears from the pet shop - cooked and dried but they look awful. He's retrieved it from its hiding place now and eaten it. Re the McMillan quiz I had got 71 and noticed the mistake but thought my answer was right. Thanks anyway. I made a big mistake - came to me this morning. Catweazle's familiar was called Touchwood not Touchstone. Am I getting dementia!!? Didn't realise you were in Kent, from your weather report the other day, thought you were up North. All questions answered now I think. This was just a quickie cos off to visit a friend for the rest of the day. Love "Anne" x
Hi Anne and I thought that was your real name - silly me. Forgot all about Ladies of Letters. Yes it is Judy but quite happy to be Maureen to your Anne. Glad Ben managed to find his pigs ear.

How are you doing with the quizzes 'cos I'm really struggling. Just had another one arrive in the post Maud Over 50s Club and the clues are all water related so I'm going to try that instead and give the other two a rest for a while. Bye for now. Love Maureen x
Hi Anne - All very quiet on the 'Western Front'. Brilliant with sunshine and absolutely no wind at all apart, that is, from my other half! Decided to have the chicken curried tonight so more wind on the way I expect! Possibly gale force!

Love Maureen - Aka Touchstone. Judy, Judith

P: Don't really like the name Maureen as I had a cousin of that name that threw me into the swimming pool at the deep end when I was only 4/5 and I had lost my mum and couldn't even swim. Fortunately the life guard was on standby.
