Has anyone got a double - barrel surname?

I have but wouldn't dream of using it, I have a friend who has just 'inserted' her maiden name into her surname...
I would sound real snobby...being a Norvener..lol

they are ok I think

Mine has two versions. My parents could not agree so decided to be cruel and name me both and then shorten it also so technically I have a double barrelled first name and those two names together also create a third name - C.R.U.E.L =)

No, but all my children have got two middle names as my husband wanted his family middle name for our first child and I we couldn't decide on first names - so they all have two first names (if you like) then the 'family' middle name and our surname. We had to do it for all of them to make it fair (so we had to choose a female 'family' middle name)!

I have since shortened my name and no-one I know these days knows my real name, apart from my O/H and family.

my mum and dad have spent years studying the family history and back in late 1800 my name was double barrelled but luckily part was dropped, thank god
