It just had to happen, I am surprised it hasn't happened sooner.

Can I hear the Lawyers at the Tower's gates, queueing up to take on her compensation claim?

Got to agree, I'm suprised she wasn't hounded out sooner. This is surely a man's profession and to give it to a woman is the PC brigade gone mad.
She has been bullied and picked on. Regardless of any gender issue bullying and harrassment is not acceptable and it is only right the people concerned have been suspeded. You will not stop them feeling as they do, but this does not excuse their actions. Nothing to do with PC.
or even suspended!
I disagree with the bullying but can't say I'm surprised.
I too am not surprised. There are too many nasty people about. People as respected as Beefeaters should know better than to behave like this. They deserve to lose there jobs and more deserving people should replace them.

Personally, I think that the jobs should go to deserving people whether male or female and the lady concerned has served her 22 years in the armed service with a good record.
Men bullying a woman?

Maybe they kiss each other afterwards....puffs.
Perhaps she should move on to another job such as Pope.

One would most likely find that this horseplay has taken place between male Beefeaters for centuries.

After all they are all old soldiers, who in their long service, have had to endure much worse than this.

This is yet another instance of problems caused by a member of the fairer sex, entering into what until recently, has been exclusively a man's world.
With respect AOG, how do you know that this bullying is only horseplay. In would seem to be must nastier. I am sure this woman has enough experience of the forces and enough strength of character to know what is horseplay and what is harrassment. And it is only the minority that are involved. We ladies can take care of ourselves but harrassment in the workplace should not be acceptable and if we know we are upsetting someone with our activities, even though we might consider it horseplay, then we should not continue doing it.
"This is yet another instance of problems caused by a member of the fairer sex, entering into what until recently, has been exclusively a man's world."

Yeah...these uppity women expecting that they should be treated equally. What a cheek. Next they'll be asking to be paid the same wage for doing the same job.

If only they stayed at home having babies etc etc.
I would feel the same if they were bullying another male. Bullies tend to pick on people that they think are weaker than themselves. Personally, I think the lady concerned has acted correctly in making a complaint (or perhaps someone has complained on her behalf. It could not be allowed to continue
And changing the subject a little, too much bullying has been put up with in the forces. Fortunately, they now seem to be taking it more seriously.
AOG "This is yet another instance of problems caused by a member of the fairer sex, entering into what until recently, has been exclusively a man's world. "

yes, or to put it another way..
A few grumpy old tw&ts have had their noses put out of joint because a dreaded female has encroached into their little club, so they thought they'd make life as difficult for her as possible by playing a few nasty tricks.
That sounds about right Ludgwig!
Ludwig!!
"This is yet another instance of problems caused by a member of the fairer sex, entering into what until recently, has been exclusively a man's world"

This is yet another instance of bigotry caused by a person of advanced years, attempting to impose thier outdated views on gender relations to the modern world they've failed to adapt to.

I kid! I kid!

Seriously, though, you seem to be implying it's a bad thing that the presence of women in various professions has increased in the last 50 years. Why?

To the dungeons with them, I say.

The RSPCA with be onto them next for clipping the wings of the ravens.
AOG. Be honest. What is a man's job and what is a woman's job? Why should a woman not be a Beefeater?. Is there anything they do that is only suitable for men. Or is it just tradition that you don't want to see changed. Anybody who is capable of doing a job and desires to do that job should be given a chance surely. There are some exceptions (where necessary) in the law - like some of the caring professions.

Not so long ago women had very few opportunities of the type of work they would be accepted into. Times have changed and for the better.
I think it's disgusting to pick on her just cos she's not a vegetarian or vegan.
What about all the men who eat beef? I bet they don't get the same sort of harrassment.
Poor cow :-(
eh?
