Talk about a disappointment! The NS has at last produced a weekly crossword and it's a reissue of one published in 1954. Rip Van Winkle is obviously on the editorial staff! What does anyone else think?

Take a look at it and you'll see how old fashioned it is, mamyalynne. Completely out of touch with what we expect in a modern crossword.

It is disappointing I used to enjoy doing SETQUARE -the guy that set that died about seven years ago -during the 70's and 80's when with SALAMANCA there was a weekly crossword.Can you look at in online ?

robinruth -thanks for the offer but I will endeavour to find the magazine at the library/newsagents and take a look I was a postal subscriber for about twenty years when it used to arrive rolled up and sometimes sodden and ripped but kept them all. It will be interesting to have a look at as I have not read it for about ten years.If I find it I will attempt to relay my thoughts back to you. Cheers

Crucifernz, I made my own pdf from the original but will happily email it to you if you send an address to [email protected] (same to you e-hindle if you haven't obtained a copy) You'll see what I mean about it not being appropriate for a modern magazine.
