No. there's a different letter in each clue. In 11ac the misprint is M, as the word carriage should actually be marriage, to give union
Question Author
That's what Imean. Is it M in place of other letters, giving, for eg, union - marriage.
The misprint in 14A is breed for bread. Three happen to be the same letter but the others are all different letters.
By that, I mean three letters are the same in the two-word phrase you finish up with!

Thanks to both of you. I think I understand
Yes, entertaining indeed and quite challenging (perhaps more so than last week's Listener?) I have completed it but am not sure why the first of the two words made up by the misprints is there - is it mildly redundant?
Robinruth the two word phrase would be described in political terms in the crossword's title.
For that reason, I was looking at British political places of significance and was a little disappointed when I came up with just a series of words that seemed to fit only the second word. Many thanks, Kayakamina - as always.
DrB has just dazzled me on the other thread about this one - pointing out the visual pun of where these items are placed in the grid. I am delighted with the revelation that had totally passed me by!

Robinruth & kayak. Wish II knew what you do. I've only managed a third of clues so far
Zita-green - I am always in the same position as you for the Listener and almost despair. The Speccie has become 'easy' through sheer practice (about five years of doing it every week). You learn the tricks (like st for stone, o for love and so on.) email me at [email protected] if your are really stuck with an answer and want a more direct prompt (kind people help me that way!)
This one was fairly difficult but fell into place once the first item on the top line became clear. Focus on the second word of 3d. to get a key letter!

Robin2ruth. My email to you bounced back.
Sorry zita-green, it's [email protected]
Question Author
My email, with amended address, has bounced back again
Oh dear, I can't think why. [email protected] is working fine for other people from the Answerbank. Keep trying, please! If you were to send me an address, I could send you a different one.
