Can you do something to restrict the number of questions asked in one message? I recently set a local quiz of 100 questions. One Answerbanker asked for 25 of the answers in one shot followed up by another 10 the next day and 8 more on the third day. What is the point of that? Did he even try to answer any for himself? The whole quiz was ruined by one selfish lazy individual. I don't know where to send my complaint about this person who has the pseudonym Mouth7.
It also raises another issue. People should be warned about copyright. I put a copyright sign on my quiz and by copying large chunks of it ( in this caase 43%) the person is in breach of copyright and should be sued.

It's probably a troll trying to wind you up :-(
Stealing ytour copyright to a quiz Roger? It'd cost you more to sue someone than what you'd get back. You're always going to get folk doing this, whether it's by asking for a newspaper crossword answers or whatever.
I think you've answered yourself really - no, the person probably didn't try to do the quiz him/her self, and yes, was either lazy - or just couldn't do it, so thought they'd cheat!
Copyright infringement is covered by the Site Rules which is a part of the site that many users apparently never visit nor care to abide by.

As copyright holder does it not make more sense for you to warn of the consequences of infringement?
I guess part of the solution is in our hands. I personally don't answer requests for blocks of answers, like, say, 10 consecutive clues in a single crossword. If, as happened the other day, someone asks for a similar number, scattered across the puzzle, then you know that they have tried, and are truly stuck.

As for copyright - I would think that if they tried to pass the quiz off as their own, then you might have a case. Merely asking for answers I wouldn't think would be classified as a breach of copyright..
Are you saying that none of the questions you asked have appeared in print before? If they have, you do not have the copyright on those questions.

Thanks for your comments. I think Dig Dave44 has the right approach in not responding to multiple questions. I wish others would do likewise. Regarding copyright, I agree it would be pointless trying to sue even if I knew the culprit. Unfortunately few people understand the meaning of the copyright sign which I put on the quiz. I will have to spell it out mor clearly next time for the benefit of Mouth7
if you see a thread asking for answers to your quiz you can always post a message on it yourself asking other ABers not to respond. I don't know whether this person actually got the answers he wanted but most people just look at list of 20 questions, realise it's someone too lazy to do his own work, and go on without answering them.

Alternatively, give him a wrong answer to one of the tougher questions. You'll soon know which contestants have been using it.

Thanks Jno. Your answer was most helpful. I will be trying your suggestions next time. The lazy mouth7 did not win my quiz because he actually copied an answer wrongly!
