At this historic moment in time, I feel compelled to put down in writing and share my thoughts with you. Over the past week or so, I / or we have witnessed several ground breaking and historic events, created and involving our people.
(a) The Stanford 20 - 20 for twenty million dollars, would be won by the Stanford superstars, giving little known West Indies cricketers, an opportunity to change theirs and their families lives for good.
(b) Lewis Hamilton becoming the youngest, and first Black person to win the Formula 1 championship. In doing so suffering long suspected racial abuse from his co drivers, teams, and certain elements of a fan base in several countries.
(c) Barak Obama becoming the first Black man to succeed to the white house.
(d) Jo Wilfried Tsonga won the French Masters.
They have all achieved the unthinkable, against all odds. They have succeeded where in the past, it would have been unconceivable for them to have been even considered to be on the first step to their ultimate goals.
Senna was not a White Caucasian, yet I don't recall a load of racial cheering each time he scored one of his incredible pole positions, race wins, or World Championships.
A) The money could have gone anywhere and it had nothing to do with colour.
B) Lewis Hamilton had this thing called "TALENT" it has been nurtured for a long time by Ron Dennis a very rich white guy. If he didn't have the talent he wouldn't be where he is.
3) I conceed about Obama but only because of American history and he is appears to have outstanding charisma but remember he is the tip of the Democratic iceberg. Not forgetting that he has invigorated the apathetic US voting public.
There is always method in the madness.
4) And - Williams sisters -Yannick Noah - Arthur Ashe.
People achive things because of who they are, because they are talent human beings colour of skin has nothing to do with it.
The sooner people can accept people as people the happier this world will be.
Moss was the greatest driver never to win the World Championship, and a true gentleman in addition. Jim Clark, tragically lost at Hockenheim in a minor race, another truly gentle man.
Raikkonen, last year's World Champion, is blonde Scandinavian with piercing blue eyes. Did this help him? Or did he just drive very fast and score more points than anybody else?
