I know there have been many different writers on Eastenders over the years, but do none of them read up on character profiles and events.

Billy Mitchell for instance wants to adopt Jay and in tonight's episode, Peggy told the social worker, what a great father Billy is.

Does no one remember when Billy's nephew Jamie, (who went on to marry Sonia,) lived will Billy outside of Walford and was physically and verbally abused by him on a regular basis.

It seems moving to Walford gives people personality transplants, for the better. I expect Ronnie's dad Archie will become the perfect, loving father in due course.

I know it's a soap, but there should be some consistency.

You know what I was thinking about that tonight whilst watching it. How are they going to let Billy look after Jay with his history seems crazy to me? And am I right in assuming that danielle is ronnies daughter? What a turn around that was!! I was not expecting that!

Yes Danielle is Ronnie's daughter.

In a way, it's realistic about Social Services, they probably would overlook the fact Billy was an abusive guardian to Jamie. I expect they would have lost the file.
I know tell me about it, I had dealings with social services last year I had to go into witness protection with my daughter because my now ex partner went on a violent rampage and social services told me I had to leave my home and go with them as he was deemed to be a danger to himself and his children. But within 12 hours he was back living with his ex and their 4 children and they didnt bat an eyelid??? This guy is not ment to be living with or near children his own or not from social services say so and 12 months on he is still there???Mad or what??
Isn't there the fact, though, that people change. Billy's treatment of his nephew was unforgivable, but he was very unstable then and had reasons (not excuses) for his behaviour. Men can and do change when they become dads, and Billy certainly has. He is a great dad to his own two, taking on and loving his disabled daughter when even her mother rejected her. I don't think he recalls those times with Jamie without a deal of discomfort.

Pinkbunny -jeez! Where have you been for the last month? Soap forums have been speculating on it for weeks!
its not real their acting you know!
Lol, Texol. How many times have I said this. Doesn't stop me being drawn in though.

Still, when I met Gill Halfpenny, I was able to speak to her as an actress and not as her character.
You never know, it may well form part of the storyline yet to come...
