So I can stop thinking about this, can anyone explain the wordplay to 11ac? Married with no children, not being licensed (7) I imagine it's SPLICED, but don't see where no children fit in. Thanks in advance

Crikey! That's one of the most obscure clues I've ever seen in the Guardian. The sine prole and ens double whammy . . .
Many thanks, JMR27. I'm deeply impressed. I thought I wasn't too bad at these, but you and kayakamina leave me standing

turnerjmw, if you are puzzled by this crossword then I am tearing my hair out. 27a Disc containing extra drink for Bible translator in Yorkshire(9). I have C?V???A?E and CAVALCADE is the only word that I know that fits. But why??
23d Not the 25 play(5). I think that 25 is typical and have ?P??? but I no idea what the answer is.
Any help appreciated and thanks given in advance.

I don't have this crossword but maybe Sport for 23d?...sport = play and can also mean a plant or animal that varies from the norm, therefore ...not typical

Thanks jmr27 I am sure that you are correct on both counts.

I'm pretty sure it's RECLINE (rec short for recipe, latin take) and line for course. I think you may have ATHLETES as 2dn rather than ATHLETIC (hel anag in attic = Greek)
