Whilst in and out of Croydon in 2001, I listened to Heart radio - it maybe a London station and is maybe still going...dunno - but they used to have a regular Disco Night on Saturdays and one of the songs played had a female backing group singing "beep beep" and that's all I can tell you as I never got the band's name. Ta Muchly for any help with this.

Yes Heart is still going, yes they do that still, and the song you want is called "Bad girls". Can't recall who by just now. Oh hang on, I have a version (I think is the best) by Juliet Roberts.
