Years ago a guy called Peter Simon who was a warm up guy at Granada TV in Manchester did it. He moved on to Saturday TV and did 'Double or Dare' or something like that on Saturday Live.

The original Ronald McDonald was played by a Russian that had an accent far too thick for speaking parts. When McDonald's wanted Ronald to talk, they gave the job to Willard Scott.
